Requirement-
It is India’s largest and Asia’s third largest paint company. It operates in 20 countries and has 28 paint manufacturing facilities in the world and caters to consumers in more than 65 countries. Asian Paints focuses on innovation in order to offer the best products to the customers.

Asian Paints has decided to provide laptops to many of its employees in order to improve the response time to business requirements. This meant that IT had to provide easy and secure access to the office network. Access via regular Internet VPN was considered an overhead and a possible risk due to access to the Internet.

Solution-
RCOM has been successful in addressing the need of Asian Paints. It has provided Asian Paints with data cards to connect their intranet through WDVPN network. Not only this, the employees are able to access their official mails, company portal, SAP portal etc. through RCOM’s WDVPN service.
According to Mr. Manish Choksi, Chief - Corporate Strategy & CIO “The WDVPN solution offered by Reliance allowed Asian Paints IT to provide secure connectivity to company resources while being on the move. It also had an easy setup procedure which meant wide user acceptance. ’’

Client- BSES Yamuna Power Limited (BYPL) and BSES Rajdhani Power Limited

Location- Delhi

No. of Connections- 3000 AMR Modems

LNS Server- Dedicated

Areas Covered- Delhi, NCR (Partial)

Requirement-
BSES Yamuna Power Limited distributes power to an area spread over 200 sq kms and BSES Rajdhani Power Limited distributes power to an area spread over 750 sq. km to a cumulative customer base of 22.6 lakhs, comprising two-thirds of Delhi.

The conventional meter reading method required the inspector to visit the consumer premises and record the meter data for a particular period, either manually in meter books or in hand held instruments known as MRI. It was a time consuming job to read each meter and also there was a scope for errors. It was a tedious job which required huge manpower for reading the meters as these consumers are spread across Delhi.

Solution-
RCOM has provided BSES with a unique solution of CDMA AMR on WDVPN technology through which meter reading is done from a central location without visiting customer premises. The entire process from meter reading to billing is now fully automated .It has been incorporated to minimize human interface while downloading of meter data and to reduce billing as well as accounting errors.

RCOM’s WDVPN solution enables quicker, efficient and reliable meter reading which has increased operational efficiency and reduced cost. All this has led to reduction in the billing time, improvement in the billing quality and better revenue realization further leading to consumers’ satisfaction. Moreover, it helps to analyze customer load patterns and keeps a check on meter tampering thus reducing illegal abstraction of energy.

According to Mr.K.B. Singh, VP-IT, BSES Delhi “The implementation of AMR at such a vast scale is in itself one of the largest deployments in India, which makes it unique. The project was deployed for internal business operations of BSES Power at Delhi. It impacted business, customer care, technical operations and monitoring and regulatory compliance.

Client- Fullerton India Credit Company Limited

Location- Mumbai

No. of Connections- 2000 Data Cards

LNS Server- Dedicated

Cities Covered- Across India

Requirement-
Fullerton India Credit Company Limited offers a complete range of customized financial products and solutions. It rolled out more than 800 branches across India in all category cities.  While, primary connectivity was made available at most of the places via various modes of connectivity, with its online web-based application access from the branches, network uptime was of highest significance.

Though, a combination of the various primary modes of network connectivity proved to be effective but the cost of commissioning and running two parallel networks to support 5-8% of the outage on an online network was a non-feasible proposition. Fullerton was in need of a fast, economic and viable backup network solution which could be easily deployed across all branches and become operational without much support structure.

Solution-
Reliance Communications addressed Fullerton’s need by offering it WDVPN architecture to ride on. This consisted of a USB based dongle which can be plugged into a laptop or even a USB enabled Desktop. The CDMA based wireless device was designed to authenticate and connect the remote system securely backhauled right into Fullerton’s intranet. RCOM’s solution was implemented across more than 800 branches and also at various managerial/executive levels for ease of workflow authorizations, MIS access and other business tools.

According to Mr. Abhijeet Upponi, VP Technology Infrastructure at Fullerton India “Service availability at the branch not only increased drastically with reported proportions but it did so with minimum or low skill support intervention limited to local or regional Helpdesk. The best part is that this backup option is being paid only for the outage window that the primary network mode possesses and not for the standby time. RCOM’s proposal was more than a welcome alternative.”
